  • This coming week is the celebration of Eid-ul-fitr, the festival that marks the end of the month of Ramadan and fasting for Muslims around the world. Pray that during this celebration, Muslims will encounter Christ and the God of supplication in a new and true way.
  • Praise God that Don and Gail have received their visas and booked their flights to Central Asia. They will be leaving Melbourne on Sunday. Remember them in their last few days of preparation, as they say goodbye to family and friends, and in their first few weeks of settling into Central Asia. Pray for Don as he commences teaching at the university. (p.11)
  • In South East Asia, Rick and Irene* prayed with their friend Amy* who came to them with serious swelling on her face. Following the prayer, Amy experienced God’s healing power and the swelling was completely gone. Amy was able to share with her family about her experience and Jesus. Pray that Amy continues to grow in her knowledge and relationship with Jesus and that her family will desire to know him too. (p.21)
  • The academic year has commenced in the Silk Road Area where Wyneth is teaching English classes in two schools and the English Centre. This time she is taking the classes by herself, as Chris and Bron are in Australia on home assignment. Pray for a clear mind as she teaches and that through these classes she may be an ambassador for Jesus. (p.9)
  • Remember our brothers and sisters in Papua New Guinea where thirty people have been killed due to tribal fighting. Pray for John Kaewa and the BUPNG Peace and Reconciliation Committee as they work out strategies to bring peace and reconciliation to the people. (p.26)
  • Continue to pray for the health – physical, spiritual and emotional – of all Global Interaction cross-cultural workers. Many of them are living in places where illness is a daily reality and medical care is harder to access. Ask for God’s protection over their health and healing of any illness they face.
  • Today is the Pastors’ Resonate Event in Queensland. This is an opportunity for Baptist Pastors to gather to discuss their involvement in cross-cultural mission and its impact on the local church. Remember State Director Geoff Cramb and all who are attending this event. May this event rejuvenate pastors and their churches in their passion for and commitment to supporting cross-cultural mission. (p.35)
  • Remember the candidates and staff involved in Partnership Preparation Training which commences at the National Office on Monday. Pray that this will be a productive time of learning from the training sessions and also from one another.
